All About MeHi my name is Scott Wahlberg. I was born in Dorchester, MA and moved a bit south to the suburb of Hanover, MA in elementary school. I was born 6th of the 7 kids in my home. I grew up listening to a lot of loud Rock N Roll that my older brothers and sisters played. I got my first guitar when I was 13 (for $20.00!!). My sisters boyfriend showed me a few chords, then I was left to my own devices. From there I ran with it. I played in a number of high school and post-high school bands. My current band is called The Fog. I did my first gig when I was 18. It was a back yard party. We went over great, it was an awesome gig. I knew then that this was for me! I have been gigging out ever since. In the past few years I have started to write (and complete) more and more songs. My wife thought that we should get some of them recorded. So I started to get moving on the recording end. Since then I have written and copyrighted a number of songs. I am in the process of finishing up a full length surf and hot rod cd, and then will complete my rock cd. I hope to have these available for you to purchase here very soon! My biggest influence has been Brian Wilson. I truly believe he is a genius. I love the postitive feelings that his music generates. I love all the surf instrumental bands from the early 60s and collect them. I also still enjoy those old surf movies! I also love the stuff I grew up listening to: Aerosmith, The Stones, Bowie, T-Rex, Mott the Hoople, Alice Cooper, The Beatles, Eric Burdon and the Animals. I currently still live south of Boston with my lovely wife and my step-son Kyle, who has just started taking guitar lessons from me. In the past few years, my music has brought me many new opportunities. I have my music being featured in a short film by the great Michael Girgenti. Its titled 'The Delay' and we would all love to see a full length version on the big screen! While this project had time constraints and we used my existing songs, I am hoping for Michael's next project to write some originals for him that are based on specific scene's.I've done a number of radio interviews including Beka Ricci's 'Faith2Reality' show, Max Bowen's City Wide Blackout and Jaime Hartley Scotts 'NKAirPlay' show. I have appeared twice on Debra Crosby's Talent Quest TV Show as the special guest and am a judge on their monthly. Also for the past two years I have also been a judge for their season finale. This year, that is taking place at the Hard Rock Cafe in Fanuel Hall. Its really quite exciting. I have been booking with my band and building the best fan base there could be. I have the sweetest most loyal fans who follow me on myspace, facebook and twitter (HI TWITTERBERGS! MUCH LOVE TO YOU!) I couldn't ask for better people to be surrounding me, I have had many of my 'Twitterbergs' come see me from many places, including Idaho, Connecticut, Virginia and Canada!! I am always open to meeting my fans, chatting with them at gigs, and getting to know them, as well as letting them get to know me! I really appreciate all the support! I would like to thank a few people who are helping me achieve my goals and helping to raise awareness of my name...of course my lovely wife comes first, Thanks Lisa, I love you and you are the most supportive wife anyone could have! Also Kimberly Gretton, Kelly Rae @ Stray Cat Production, Debra Crosby and Deborah Scaduto at Talent Quest TV Show, Beka Ricci, Max Bowen, and Jaime Hartley just to name a few. I'd love to hear from you, your thoughts on my music or if you have questions for me. Please feel free to send an email. I also have a few myspace pages where you can check out a bit more detail on each of my music styles as well as hear all my original songs and some cover tunes too: www.myspace.com/thecheckeredflags We do hope to figure out how to put the music on this site for you to hear, we are working on it! |
